Bought this kit a couple of years ago..... FINALY got around to making it up this weekend, really enjoyed doing it, easy to follow instructions, just need to finish painting the exterior, then I can start doing my Thimble cottage. Jane x
I fell in love with this cottage as soon as I saw it and I think it remains my favourite. It has more room inside on the ground floor than some of the other kits because of its 'L' shape, and I was able to add a second room on the first floor for a bathroom and still have a reasonable-sized bedroom. There is a lot of clay work involved for the tiles on the ground floor, the walls and the 'thatched' roof, but the instructions are clear and there are step-by-step photographs that make everything clear. This cottage is well worth the effort and I highly recommend it! Sandie (Sydney, Australia)
This was my first attempt at anything in 1.48 scale and my first P.P kit. The instructions are brilliant and everything goes together so well. I am over the moon with my little cottage, nothing cracked (maybe not such a good thing with an old cottage!)shrunk or bowed. It took me a while to do but I think that helped, gave me 'thinking' time. Now for the furniture.
This was my first kit from Petite Properties. Found it a bit of a challenge with the clay - but not to be beaten carried on. Dried everything on my Rayburn but nothing cracked !!. I absolutely adore this cottage and am completely hooked. xx
Another brilliant little house which was great fun to make. My clay cracked beautifully and makes the walls look authentic. I use thin balsa wood with cardboard strips glued in for the doors as these are a bit more rigid and easier to work with.
